How To Apply

The Veteran Application

If you are a honorably-discharged veteran of the United States military and served during the eras of military conflict listed below, Honor Flight of Southern Colorado would like to recognize you, your service, and your sacrifice by offering you an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC to visit some of our Nation’s memorials and monuments.

The eras include veterans who served during:

* World War II;

* Korean War;

* Vietnam War;

* Any veteran of any era who is suffering from a terminal illness.

Honor Flight of Southern Colorado will also provide trained Guardians to escort our veterans and offer assistance for a safe, memorable, and rewarding journey.

Per our organizational rules, spouses cannot travel with their veteran as Guardians unless they are also veterans OR are between the ages of 18-70 years old. If another family member would like to serve as a Guardian for their veteran, we can allow only one person per veteran.

Please use the Veteran Application button below to fill out the online version.

If you wish to PRINT a paper copy of your application, please do so HERE.

If you print a copy of the application, please keep the front page of the application. It gives you information on what to bring.

FOR YOUR HEALTH SAFETY, HONOR FLIGHT OF SOUTHERN COLORADO HIGHLY RECOMMENDS THAT EACH PERSON PARTICIPATING IN AN HONOR FLIGHT BE FULLY VACCINATED AND HAVE TAKEN YOUR BOOSTER SHOT.

On the trip, please bring a copy of your vaccination card and your state or nationally-accredited identification. Also, please send a copy of both your vaccination card and your ID (on one page) in an email to: Clong@honorflightsoco.net

Guardians escort and assist our veterans, traveling with them to and from the Washington DC area. Physical requirements require Guardians be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be capable of pushing a wheelchair for several

The Volunteer Application

Honor Flight of Southern Colorado is a fully-accredited 501(c)(3) organization whose volunteer board is committed to honoring the heroes who sacrificed for this country during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM NEEDS YOU!

Without the help and support of our volunteers, there is no way that we can provide the opportunity to fly our heroes to Washington DC to see the memorials created in their honor.

Examples of volunteer positions include:

Creating a boisterous send off for our heroes at the pre-flight breakfast in Colorado Springs and at the airport the morning of our first flight of our mission;

* Welcoming home our heroes at the end of their mission with an even more boisterous post-flight reception;

* Working with our Communications Committee entering veteran and Guardian data into our Honor App database and mailing any requested application material or any purchased merchandise;

* Contacting veterans and Guardians to make arrangements based on our projected flight schedules;

* Help with any other projects as needed.

If you would like to volunteer to share your talents with Honor Flight of Southern Colorado, please use the Volunteer Application button below to fill out the online version.
